Jean Whitlock

Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LCSW

I have worked with emergency responders, front line health care workers, and other professionals for over five years and know that resilience takes many forms. I help you connect with your strengths, try new strategies, and approach life with self-compassion. Relationships with self and others, decision making, coping, anxiety and depression, trauma, and stress injuries are all things I can help with. I am LGBT+ affirming, body positive, and an ally in racial justice.

My style is gentle, present, and skilled

We can start with where you're at now, taking history along the way. I am skilled in CBT, EMDR, ACT, and MI. I am familiar with Internal Family Systems, DBT, Gottman, and other styles. I am a trauma-focused therapist, but emphasize that "little t" trauma is just as important to treat as "big T" trauma. Stress injuries (loss, inner conflict, wear and tear, and recent traumatic events) occur often and deserve attention.

If you've wondered about talking to someone, that's a good enough reason to reach out. Research and my experience suggests even one session can provide hope and comfort. It would be my honor to work with you.
